Using the editing commands
Cut
A cut operation copies a portion of the pathway to the system's clipboard, then deletes it from the pathway:
- Select one or more items.
- Do any one of the following:
- Choose "Cut" from the "Edit" menu.
- Right-click on one of the selected items and choose "Cut" from the pop-up menu.
- On Windows or Linux, press the CONTROL and X keys on your keyboard.
- On Mac OSX, press the COMMAND and X keys on your keyboard.
- The selected items are copied to the clipboard and deleted from the pathway.
Copy
A copy operation copies a portion of the pathway to the system's clipboard:
- Select one or more items.
- Do any one of the following:
- Choose "Copy" from the "Edit" menu.
- Right-click on one of the selected items and choose "Copy" from the pop-up menu.
- On Windows or Linux, press the CONTROL and C keys on your keyboard.
- On Mac OSX, press the COMMAND and C keys on your keyboard.
- The selected items are copied to the clipboard.
Paste
A paste operation copies the contents of the clipboard to the pathway:
- Do any one of the following:
- Choose "Paste" from the "Edit" menu.
- On Windows or Linux, press the CONTROL and V keys on your keyboard.
- On Mac OSX, press the COMMAND and V keys on your keyboard.
- The clipboard's contents are added to the pathway.
Delete
You can delete one or more items from the pathway:
- Select one or more items.
- Do any one of the following:
- Choose "Delete" from the "Edit" menu.
- Right-click on one of the selected items and choose "Delete" from the pop-up menu.
- Press the DEL key on your keyboard.
- Press the BACKSPACE key on your keyboard.
- The selected items are deleted from the pathway.
Undo
Most pathway editing operations can be un-done, including deleting, pasting, and moving items.
- Choose "Undo" from the "Edit" menu. The previous action will be undone.
Redo
If you undo an edit, you can redo it again:
- Choose "Redo" from the "Edit" menu. The previous action will be re-done.
