Selecting a node

Select a node in a pathway:

  • In the pathway window, click on on a node's box-shaped icon. The node is highlighted with a thick border around it.

Once selected, you can delete the node and get node information where you can change the node's label, compound, etc.

Selecting a process

Select a process in a pathway:

  • In the pathway window, click on a process' icon. The process is highlighted with a thick border around it.

Once selected, you can delete the process and get process information where you can change the process's name, set node roles in the process, or set node stoichiometry, etc.

Selecting a connection in a process

Select an individual connection in a process in a pathway:

  • In the pathway window, click on a line drawn between a node and a process' icon. The line is highlighted with a thick border around it.

Once selected, you can delete the connection and get process information where you can change the process's name, set node roles in the process, or set node stoichiometry, etc.

Selecting nodes and processes in a region

You can select multiple nodes and processes in the pathway:

  • In the pathway window, press the mouse button in an empty area and drag the mouse. As the mouse moves, a box is drawn. When you release the mouse button, all nodes and processes inside or intersecting the box are selected.

Adding to a selection

You can select multiple nodes and processes in a pathway by selecting them one at a time.

  • Start by selecting a node, process, or connection.
  • Select another node, process, or connection in the same way, but hold down the SHIFT or CONTROL key on your keyboard. The newly selected item will be added to the selection instead of replacing it.

Deleting from a selection

When you have multiple items selected, you can remove items from the selection:

  • Start by selecting a node, process, or connection.
  • Select the node, process, or connection you wish to remove from the selection in the same way, but hold down the SHIFT or CONTROL key on your keyboard. The selected item will be remove to the selection.

Selecting all

You can select all nodes, processes, and connections in the pathway:

  • From the "Edit" menu, choose "Select all." Everything in the pathway will be selected.

Unselecting all

If you have one or more items selected, you can unselect everything:

  • From the "Edit" menu, choose "Unselect all." Everything in the pathway will be unselected.

Or:

  • Click on any empty area in the pathway.
